While an online trading capacity is fast becoming a requisite in the diamond trade, Indian diamantaires have also jumped into the bandwagon.

Hong Kong-based R A Gem Centre Ltd, an associate company of S Vinodkumar
Diamonds Pvt Ltd in India, has also gone online by uploading a huge stock of certified stones on their website www.ragemcentre.com, with all the details of the stones including certificate copies, and availability. "We now have large diamond stock on an online platform, along with daily updates. Customers can now access all of our services and order diamonds from anywhere in the world, with just a click!" said Ketan Shah, managing director of the company.

Arkit Vakharia, marketing executive of J B & Brothers believes that the greatest advantage of e-selling is that it enables customers to buy their desired diamonds from any corner of the world at any point in time, thus saving their time, money and energy. "To further aid our customers, we even provide specification schedule at JB grading system (JGS) so they can actually visualize the stone without even looking at it," he said. Of the company's total sale, 47.25 percent is through e-selling, testifying customers' confidence in the company's product and grading system.
